Great read! The most interesting thing about this article to me is the way in which the cause and solution to the problem are intertwined. This truth, and our ability to have an open discussion about it has been muzzled. The truth is that quite possibly the best thing for the husband to have done in that instance of emasculation is to collect his wife, drag her off somewhere, bend her over and fuck her. This can be taken literally or figuratively. Not exactly a conversation suitable for mainstream. "Respect your husbands. Even when he doesn't deserve it." It's the same old bullshit narrative. It blames the wife and enables the husband. It's not a solution
In the spirit of trying to make our content more palatable to a broader audience I'm going to try and rephrase my answer.
The problem as I see it, is that this woman feels that her husband has become weak. She does not want to publicly berate and emasculate him, it brings her no pleasure or satisfaction. What we are observing here are her primitive impulses at work. Biologically she wants to be with a strong man. She has unconscious impulses and instincts hard-wired into her which are there to help the man to be strong which helps assure the survival of the family unit. The female will apply pressure in order to challenge and test the male. To succeed and pass these tests the male should be unreactive to the offence and should not stand for the misbehaviour. He should remain in control, hold his frame and retain his dominant status. There is absolutely no need for conflict or confrontation, he can do this lovingly, playfully, even sexually.

Now obviously I use this sort of dialogue rarely, BUT, I have it it is there it exists. And the ladies know it. This IS the balance. This also brings us closer to our mutual truth. I KNOW when a girl in my life is upset with me, she's got damn good reason and I am FULLY listening.
