Convention Center Cutie - has a boyfriend

Met this cutie working at a convention (convention is going on all week). She says she has a boyfriend but gave me her number anyway.
I asked her to hang out later that night, she says she can't cause she needs to study (studying to be a teacher).
So I sent her a text later that night:
Me: Hey teacher, try not to study too hard -- Nick
That text got no response. Should I go talk to her again at the convention or just run text game?
I'm thinking my next text will be something like - "lets hang out tonight, I'll bring you an apple - I promise not to spike it ;-)"

You can't just go prodding for dates when you haven't even gotten a response from her. That screams out desperation. Try using one of the texts from manwhore's database or using something you guys talked about to do something "playful and accusatory" i.e. make fun of her in a playful way

Also- when she went for the raincheck- you BIT... HARD.
In an interaction like this where there isn't much background and you guys are still kinda feelin eachother out, via text, don't go for the reschedule IMMEDIATELY after she asks for a raincheck... I would just ignore it and start some fluff banter back and forth a little... basically just showing her your personality via text.. but you wanna keep taht playful/accusatory VIBE throughout the convo... obviously this isn't like some routine or something but just a general vibe you want to have.
After there is some back and forth and she's used to texting you (this doesn't have to take long) you wanna hit the reschedule on a PEAK note of the convo and make it something casual... beer and icecream is a manwhore classic... Doesn't have to be that but something that doesn't SCREAM date..

@nickogilvie: If she's not budging and she has hot friends, friendzone her and get her to hook you up with her friends. You can always hook up with her later if you know how to play it on the line of 'friend' / 'sexworthy guy'.
