Whenever you push your comfort zone or make changes there is always going to be some sort of loss of groundedness. That is until pushing your comfort zone becomes second nature it becomes the new norm. Till then...

Some ways to stay grounded:

Meditation

Good diet (whatever that means for you)

Proper amount of high quality sleep

Tolle (Practicing his stuff, not just reading about it)

Physical Activity (gym, running, boxing, etc)

Beer

Flow state activites

Strong social circle (friends/family)

Being in nature/stargazing

I have dabbled with meditation before but have a hard time doing it a lot of the time, sometimes it makes my situation worse.. And yes I am aware of the irony. When strong emotions come up I usually prefer something a little more active. Sometimes that calls for a mean gym session. Other times it means taking off my shoes and walking in the woods barefoot. I love tolle as per manwhores recommendation because I can do it anywhere I can wear headphones.
